IRCC held a new Express Entry draw on May 27, 2026, for Canadian Experience Class candidates.

The department issued 3,000 invitations to apply. The minimum CRS score was 518.

This was another program-specific CEC draw. It shows that candidates with Canadian work experience remain a key focus in 2026.

Draw Highlights

  • Program/category: Canadian Experience Class
  • Invitations issued: 3,000
  • Minimum CRS: 518
  • Date/time: May 27, 2026 at 10:20:11 UTC
  • Rank required: 3,000 or above
  • Tie-breaking rule: April 30, 2026 at 03:16:01 UTC

If more than one candidate had the lowest CRS score, IRCC used the tie-breaking rule. This means profiles submitted before the tie-break time were ranked first.

The tie-break rule only affects candidates at the cut-off score. Candidates above 518 were not affected by the tie-break time.

Who was invited in this draw?

This draw invited candidates under the Canadian Experience Class.

CEC is for skilled workers who have Canadian work experience and meet Express Entry program rules. Many CEC candidates are already in Canada on work permits.

To receive an ITA in this round, candidates needed a CRS score of at least 518. Candidates at the lowest score also had to meet the tie-breaking rule.

  • Candidates below 518 should keep improving CRS and watch for PNP options.

IRCC 2026 Targets and Express Entry ITAs Issued to Date

The table below compares Express Entry ITAs against IRCC’s 2026 admissions targets.

ITAs and admissions are not the same. IRCC may issue multiple ITAs to reach each target.

Bucket IRCC 2026 target (admissions) ITAs issued so far (2026) Notes
Federal High Skilled (Express Entry) 109,000 70,891 Includes General/CEC/FSWP/FSTP/French
PNP 91,500 4,450 Admissions target
French-speaking outside Quebec 9% (30,267) 26,000 Target is across programs; not 1:1 with ITAs

Important: ITAs and admissions are not equivalent. Multiple ITAs may be issued to reach each admissions target, and not all ITA recipients become permanent residents.

If you received an ITA: what to do next

If you received an ITA, review your profile details before you submit your PR application.

Start collecting key documents early. Common documents include:

  • Passport
  • Language test results
  • Education documents
  • Work experience letters
  • Police certificates
  • Proof of funds, if required
  • Medical exam details, if requested
  • Digital photo
  • Marriage or family documents, if needed

Check each document carefully. Small errors can delay your file or create extra requests.

If you did not receive an ITA: next steps

If your score was below 518, you still have options.

  • Update your Express Entry profile if your details changed.
  • Retake a language test if you can improve your CRS.
  • Add new work experience when eligible.
  • Review your education and credential details.
  • Check if your job is linked to a category-based draw.
  • Explore PNP options that match your profile.

PNP streams can help candidates with lower CRS scores. Some streams target workers, graduates, trades, health care roles, and job offer holders.
